The Bears quarterback carousel continues to spin. They have already started two players in this position in 2021 through three games – Andy Dalton and Justin Fields. Now everyone can guess who will start at week 4.
Chicago coach Matt Nagy would not rule out any of the starting three quarterbacks. That includes Nick Foles, who was the team’s third quarterback to start the season.

It looks like injuries affect Nagy’s decision. Dalton is struggling with the aftermath of a bruised left knee. Meanwhile, Fields had x-rays on his hands after suffering an apparent injury against the Browns. Fields insisted after the contest that he was “fine”, so Nagy may have taken a cautious approach; he admitted that he was watching Fields and Dalton closely.
“The three (neighborhoods) are currently under review to find out where they stand, so we’ll have to see in the next few days where they all stand,” Nagy said. “We know where Nick is, from a health point of view, but we just want to keep an eye on Justin and Andy. Then we have to stay on that and make sure we have a plan for each of them. . “
It’s worth wondering how careful Nagy will be. Could he consider throwing Foles on Fields if he doesn’t trust Fields’ hand? It’s a possibility.

Nagy mentioned wanting to put Fields in a position to be successful on the court. Perhaps he will reconsider playing the rookie after his offensive line allowed nine sacks against the Browns, although he is happy with the way Fields has trained.
“I loved his preparation (before the game),” Nagy said. “I think he learned a lot in the week of training that we had. I think he got better every day. There are going to be ups and downs.
“Now that was a weak, very weak deal there. So we want to make sure that we do everything we can to put him in situations where he’s successful. And I think Justin’s positivity, the Justin’s determination to be awesome, he’ll be able to get over something like this because of everything I’ve said before. “

Still, it looks like Fields has Nagy’s confidence, so he should always be favored to start Foles over again, provided his hand is OK.
That said, the Bears quarterback’s decision will be even more muddled if Dalton returns from his knee disease. So, until we learn more about the injury report, anyone can guess who Nagy will start against the Lions. Don’t rule anything out just yet.
