PARKERSBURG — The 2022 West Virginia State Honey Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday at City Park in Parkersburg.
The festival, which serves as a fundraiser for the Wood County Recreation Commission and its programs, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day with $5 daily admission.
About 45 vendors are expected to set up for the two-day festival, offering a variety of goods. Several beekeeping groups will provide honey and educational opportunities for attendees, including the West Virginia Beekeepers Association.
There will be activities for children. Thomas Family Entertainment provides three inflatables, bumper cars, and a train that will take attendees around the park, with the cost included in the price of admission.
The festival will also feature live music. On Saturday, Insured Sound will play at 2 p.m. and Idiocy will play at 4 p.m. Sunday, The Smith Family Singers will play at 1 p.m. and Buck and Company will play at 2:30 p.m. Also on Sunday, The Amazing Sladek will perform.
The Teen Honey Pageant will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. and the Youth Honey Pageant will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m.
