This North Texas retail and entertainment development was named the world’s most innovative

Grandscape, the 433-acre commercial and entertainment development that includes a Nebraska Furniture Mart, 26 restaurants, a brewery, an indoor go-kart hall, movie theaters and a Ferris wheel, is an international winner.

The development, still under construction at The Colony, took top honors at the Global RLI Awards last month in London, surpassing four other properties, all located in Asia.

“With so many outstanding projects around the world, it truly is a great honor for the entire Grandscape team to be recognized as the most innovative retail and entertainment project,” said Jeff Lind, President of Grandscape, in a press release. “While we’re excited about what we’ve built, we’re even more excited about what’s to come with future phases of this project. Grandscape is a one-of-a-kind destination, and we’re just getting started.

When fully built, Grandscape will have three million square feet of retail, entertainment, foodservice, residences, offices and attractions.

Construction is underway on the 95-acre central living portion of the project, the statement said. Phase 1 opened in March 2020 with Andretti Indoor Karting & Games, Galaxy Theaters and the self-proclaimed world’s largest sports store SCHEELS.

Grandscape was honored in the category of Most Innovative Retail and Entertainment Project, voted a cut above Novotown in Zhuhai, China; ParadropVR city flyer in Bangkok; and Zijing Paradise Walk in Hangzhou, China.

According to the statement, the category “rewards projects that have created an extraordinary experience for customers and tenants”.
