This is what the 2022 Toyota Urban Cruiser could look like

Maruti Suzuki recently launched the 2022 version of its popular Brezza compact SUV in the market. Compared to the previous version, Maruti has completely changed the overall design of the SUV. If you recall, Toyota also sells Brezza as the Urban Cruiser. Toyota has yet to launch the updated or facelifted version of Urban Cruiser in the market. According to reports, Toyota will not launch a 2022 version of Urban Cruiser. There are several render videos and images available online that show what the 2022 version of Urban Cruiser might look like. Here we have such Urban Cruiser video which shows how the all new 2022 Urban Cruiser based on the new Brezza would look like.

The video was uploaded by NM tunes on their YouTube channel. In this video, the render artist redesigns the front of the current Maruti Brezza model to make it look like an Urban Cruiser. Unlike the previous Urban cruiser model, the facelift version of the SUV will get a new front fascia. The artist changed the front of the SUV so that it looks more like Toyota than Suzuki. The lower grille of the Maruti Brezza has been completely removed and replaced to give it a different look. Urban Cruiser’s lower grille design is actually inspired by other international Toyota models.

The lower grille receives honeycomb design elements. Brezza’s glossy gray horizontal slat has been retained, but looks much more elegant than Brezza’s. A Toyota logo is placed in the center of the grille and the design of the headlights also remains the same. The car comes with dual projector headlights and the dual LED daytime running lights and turn signals are all the same as the Brezza. The bumper also received minor changes. As the Urban Cruiser’s lower grille is wider, it followed the stock fog lights. Thus, the fog lights were placed slightly higher than where they were originally in Brezza.

The lower part of the bumper also receives a false skid plate. Other than that, no other changes have been made to the SUV. The design of alloy wheels, taillights, headlights all remain the same. Toyota has not confirmed anything regarding the Urban Cruiser’s launch or discontinuation from the market. The automaker recently unveiled its first-ever Urban Cruiser Hyryder mid-size SUV in India. The official launch and deliveries for the same are expected to take place in the coming months.

The render image is just a figment of the artist’s imagination and if Toyota releases the Urban Cruiser facelift, it most likely looks like Brezza. Toyota Urban Cruiser will be powered by the same engine as Brezza. It will use the 1.5 liter petrol engine with mild hybrid technology. This engine is available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Urban Cruiser Hyryder is the first product jointly developed by Toyota and Suzuki for India.
