In a small coastal village in Maine, carnival barker Billy Bigelow falls in love and marries local carpenter Julie Jordan. Their romance quickly runs into obstacles as the two lose their jobs the moment they learn that she is pregnant. Desperately determined to provide for his family, Billy is forced to be an accomplice in a robbery. Trapped and threatened with prison, Billy dies, but is offered a second chance at redemption fifteen years later when he returns to earth to meet his daughter. She’s a lonely, friendless teenager, but Billy’s love for her instills a sense of hope and dignity she’s never felt before.
“I hope people aspire to get back together,” said Cornell, director and stage designer of this production. “When we closed, I don’t think anyone imagined we would be dark for almost two years, but the message of this show is one that is needed today. In the past two years of isolation, he is reassuring to know that we are always connected and not alone. “
