QNB signs agreement with IHG to sponsor Doha Winter Wonderland

QNB has signed a sponsorship agreement with Investment Holding Group (IHG) whereby QNB will be one of the main sponsors of Doha Winter Wonderland.

Doha Winter Wonderland and other attractions on Al Maha Island are set to become a tourism hotspot in Qatar – attracting more than 1.5 million visitors a year, according to a press release.
The sponsorship agreement was signed by Heba al-Tamimi, Group Chief Communications Officer of QNB, and Henrik Christiansen, Group Chief Executive of IHG, in the presence of Abdulla Mubarak al-Khalifa, Group Chief Executive of QNB, and Moutaz al-Khayyat, Chairman of IHG, accompanied by a group of executives from both companies.
Last week, IHG announced its latest project, Al Maha Island, the entertainment and leisure destination that will transform tourism in Qatar. The world-class project is led by the association IHG and IMG, in collaboration with Qatar Tourism and Qatari Diar.
Al Maha’s key attraction, Doha Winter Wonderland, will be managed by IMG, a global events and media leader. IMG is the producer and operator of London’s famous Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.
Doha Winter Wonderland is a 93,000 m² theme park that will appeal to everyone. The park will host 50 rides, including 10 thrill rides with a 395 roller coaster, 25 family rides with a 150-foot giant Ferris wheel, and 15 kiddie rides.
Commenting on the sponsorship, al-Khalifa said, “We are delighted to be part of major tourism projects in Qatar, in support of the national strategy for tourism under the Qatar National Vision 2030. Doha Winter Wonderland is one of the most important tourist destinations. , operated by reputable international companies in the field of Class A entertainment, which contributes significantly to attracting tourists and improving the tourist and entertainment experience in Qatar.
Al-Tamimi said, “By sponsoring Doha Winter Wonderland, we aim to strengthen the presence of the QNB brand among tourists in the region and around the world.
Christiansen added, “Doha Winter Wonderland is a unique attraction for indoor and outdoor tourism, which is expected to attract tourists from all over the world, while being particularly popular with citizens and residents of GCC countries. With our unparalleled capabilities and experience, we aim to effectively contribute to the development of domestic and external tourism in Qatar, consolidating its position in the global tourism scene in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, especially with the continued major sporting events in Qatar such as the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and Asian Games 2030.”
