Naruto knows the value of a good twist, and the franchise has welcomed tons of them in its time. Since the day Naruto became a genin, the series has taken wild left turns, and that continued in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. And thanks to its latest update, fans know that another plot twist has just hit home thanks to some Hidden Leaf refugees.
It all started a few months ago when Boruto planted seeds with the help of Shikamaru. Genie made a plea with Daemon and Eida after the two cyborgs showed up in the village with Code. It was there that the counselor told the couple that they could take refuge in the hidden leaf if they left Code’s group, but no one took the plot seriously.
In the end, the offer was enough to pique the girl’s interest. Boruto’s most recent chapter did the unexpected by driving a wedge between Code and Eida. While the former is still obsessed with doing Isshiki’s will, Eida wants nothing more than to seduce Kawaki, and she has the best chance of doing so within the Hidden Leaf. In the end, it doesn’t take long for Amado to convince Eida and his little brother to switch teams.

Chapter 71 ends with Amado telling the trio that they should head to the Hidden Leaf, and it is unclear what awaits them there. Shikamaru has been suspicious of Amado from the start, and although he offered the other cyborgs sanctuary, the details of the deal are not spelled out. The plan could still go south, and if so, it’s unclear whether Sasuke or Naruto could handle the Eida charm.
