After the insane battle between Kara and Konoha, Jigen lost his life attempting to appropriate Kawaki’s body and set up Code not only to avenge his death, but also to become the new leader of the Kara Organization. With the return of creator Masashi Kishimoto to the franchise, major changes have been made to the ninja world and a battle between the next generation of Konoha and the new Kara is about to begin.

Code rounded up some brand new thugs to fulfill his new version of Kara and made his way to the Hidden Leaf. With Kawaki believing that if he sacrifices himself Konoha will be spared, he approaches Code and offers his own life in penance for the death of Jigen, which Kara’s boss rejects. Promising revenge on all the villagers, Code and Kawaki engage in a fight in which Konoha’s new resident finds himself at a great disadvantage now that Karma is no longer a part of his body.

Before Code can escape with Kawaki, Boruto intervenes, following his friend into the woods and giving Kara’s member a surprise blow, hinting at a major battle between the two that will take place in the next chapter of the manga. With Boruto still having Karma at its disposal, albeit with a high price tag for energy use, this will be a major brawl in the following series.
