Mayans MC Season 5 Renewed at FX

Fresh off its wild Season 4 finale, Mayans MC made a prominent appearance at San Diego Comic-Con for a special screening and panel with all of its stars and creatives. As it remains one of FX’s top dramas, it felt like a lock entering the series that the series would finally receive a renewal for Season 5 to continue its story as a motorcycle outlaw.

During the panel, it was revealed that the show will officially return for Season 5 in 2023. Nick Grad, President, Original Programming, FX Entertainment, said of the renewal:

“The Mayans fought for respect, territory and power over four intense seasons that set the stage for an explosive fifth season that will test their survival even under the new leadership claimed by ‘EZ’. Elgin James and the creative team, brilliant cast, crew and our partners at 20th Television have kept fans coming back and we’re ready to be with them for another season.”

Created by Elgin James and Kurt Sutter as a spin-off set in the same universe as the hit series Sons of Anarchy, Mayans MC has spent the past four years following the exploits of Ezekiel ‘EZ’ Reyes (J.D. Pardo) and his progression as a charter prospect for the Mayans Motorcycle Club based around the US-Mexico border. Set in the fictional town of Santo Padre, the series has EZ fresh out of prison and seeking revenge against the cartels for ruining his family’s chances of a good life in the United States, albeit the life of an outcast. the-law is not what he hoped nor what he hoped for. it’s something he can escape. Season 4 set up for a potential renewal with a massive cliffhanger finale that had significant and incredibly dark implications for EZ and the future of the Mayans MC.
