Loki Season 2 Throws Everything Everywhere, Everything At Once by Ke Huy Quan

Its cast was revealed during the ongoing D23 Expo.

Disney fans are at the heart of the second day of the J23. Everyone’s eyes were on Marvel Studios today and, as expected, there were some nice surprises sprinkled throughout. A great example being that Ke Huy Quan join the cast of Loki for the second season of the popular Disney+ series.

This should be exciting news for any 80s fan, as Quan starred in Richard Donnerthe cult classic movie of The Goonies and was Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Quan even hilariously joked during the showcase, “I’m very confused. Isn’t it the IndianaJones panel?” and the actor tenderly found his cursed temple co-star Harrison Ford at the event as they also debuted Indiana Jones 5 trailer during the showcase.


However, what makes this news so exciting is that Quan recently made his Hollywood comeback in the critically acclaimed multiverse drama A24. Everything everywhere all at once earlier this year when he played opposite michelle yeo and Jamie Lee Curtis. The actor gave such an emotionally powerful multi-layered performance that is sure to garner Oscar attention in the months to come. Moreover, this masterpiece of a movie prepared Quan for LokiThe crazy timeline and multiverse shenanigans. When we last saw the God of Mischief, he was betrayed by his variant Sylvie which completely shattered Marvel’s timeline and seemingly set the stage for the rest of The Multiverse Saga. Season 1 left us on the Time Variance Authority (TVA) cliffhanger with no recollection of who Loki was thanks to Sylvie’s actions.

Loki Season 1 was a breath of fresh air for the MCU timeline and a surprisingly in-depth character study focused on finding the strength to love yourself. In Loki’s case, his journey was pretty literal, which helped make the show even more fun. John Charpentier sci-fi atmosphere. All of this was backed by a brilliant musical score by the composer Nathalie Holt. These themes and aesthetics of the series are similar to those found in Everything everywhere all at once so, again, Quan is more than familiar with this kind of big emotional storytelling.

Marvel hasn’t said who Quan will play in the series, but Loki returns for its second season next year and Hiddleston revealed to D23 that the story chaotically picks up where it left off. Starring Hiddleston and Quan, Season 2 features Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha Raw, Sophie Di Martino, Wunmi Mosakuand Raphael Casal.
