Launch of the Maruti Baleno 2022 facelift likely by March 2022; More details

With the aim of regaining the lost market share, Maruti Suzuki is preparing a wide range of new cars and SUVs for the Indian market. The company will launch the new Brezza, the new Alto, the updated Baleno and Jimny off-roader in 2022. In addition to this, the company is preparing a new mid-size SUV in collaboration with Toyota. The Maruti Baleno 2022 facelift will launch in the first quarter of 2022, most likely in February-March.

The updated model will come with a revised exterior; however, big changes will be made inside the cabin. Clear spy images of the new Baleno have already hit the web world.

Spy images reveal that the 2022 Maruti Baleno will feature a completely revised front and rear design. It comes with a larger grille and a new L-shaped wrap-around design for the headlights with a new LED daytime running light. The vehicle receives a new front bumper with a larger air dam and a new fog lamp housing. At the rear, the updated Baleno will have newly designed L-shaped taillights, a new bumper and a new tailgate. It will come with updated alloy rims.

Big changes will be made inside the Maruti Baleno 2022. It will come with a larger 9.0-inch stand-alone touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity system. The infotainment system will come with a Sim-based connectivity suite that offers features like geotagging, real-time tracking, finding your car and more. The system should also get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly.

The leaked images reveal that the AC vents are now more stylish and positioned horizontally. It gets a whole new dashboard with new brushed aluminum inserts. The Baleno facelift is expected to have better plastic, a new steering wheel and a new air conditioning button. The tailgate could also receive cruise control, automatic headlights and wipers.

The Maruti Baleno 2022 is most likely to retain the 1.2L naturally aspirated gasoline engine and 1.2L twin-jet gasoline with SHVS mild hybrid system. While the former is good for 83 hp and 110 Nm, the latter offers 89 hp and 110 Nm of torque. Manual and automatic transmission options will be offered.
