HBO Max’s trailer Eleven station depicts a world ravaged by a pandemic. Based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Emily St. John Mandel, Eleven station follows several characters in the onset and aftermath of an apocalyptic flu pandemic. The book landed on several lists of the best books of 2014, with the Eleven station miniseries originally announced in June 2019. The timing of the announcement, which came more than six months before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic that has since changed the world, makes the show eerily prescient, and the production has finally arrested early last year before ending last July. Mackenzie Davis and Himesh Patel are expected to helm the cast of the set, which also includes Lori Petty and David Cross, among others.
Now, HBO Max has released the official trailer for Eleven station. The 10-episode series is created and written by Patrick Somerville, who also created the acclaimed Netflix miniseries, Maniacal, with Emma Stone and Jonah Hill. Hiro Murai, a prolific music video director who has directed several episodes of Atlanta, directs the series. Eleven station will begin streaming on HBO Max on December 16.
