Could Guillermo Del Toro’s Hellboy 3 happen again? This is what Ron Perlman says

Some unrealized projects simply won’t die when it comes to public consciousness. One of these films is precisely that of Guillermo del Toro Hellboy 3, the entry that was to complete the trilogy the director intended to tell with Ron Perlman playing the main character. With Mr. Perlman in the mix with Mr. del Toro again thanks to Alley of nightmares, the question “Could Hellboy 3 is it still happening? “you were asked again. This time the answer to that question might surprise you.

Sitting with Reverse for an interview, Ron Perlman took to a new level of texture by addressing an issue that has been ingrained in the hearts of fans since the years 2008 Hellboy II: The Golden Army. Unfortunately, this is not the miracle solution that confirms Hellboy 3 is set to go into production, as Perlman has admitted it won’t happen anytime soon. However, with this obvious caveat, the actor maintains his belief that this film should always occur, and for these specific reasons:

I had to come to terms with the fact that the book is closed. But then again, I’m pretty sure that in 1947 no one working on Nightmare Alley ever thought there would be a 2021 release. So never say never, right? Someone can pick it up at some point and complete the trilogy. I hope they will finish the trilogy. And I hope Guillermo’s script is the one they made to end the trilogy. Whether he’s running it or not. It doesn’t matter that I’m Hellboy. It’s just that this circle needs to come full circle.

Enter the Hellboy movies, Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman were setting up a massive story that had huge implications for Mike Mingola’s comedic creation. Hellboy II: The Golden Army mostly started to trace the tracks of this grand finale, with a huge cliffhanger still floating in the air. 13 years later, as people continue to ask questions about Hellboy 3 status, Ron Perlman has kept the faith in his own way that it could still happen.

In the same interview that saw the Alley of nightmares member of the ensemble explaining why he wants the Hellboy trilogy to be completed, the actor also gave a glimpse of what this latest film would have contained. Without giving intrigue points, Ron Perlman teased Hellboy 3 story so masterfully that it’s hard not to rekindle the embers of hope. Read how Doom’s right hand himself describes the still-secret story:

The ending was going to resolve all aspects of this mythical creature that was introduced in the first two films. The result was to be dramatic, super-violent, biblical in nature, Greek mythology. It was a shame that the audience, who had clung to us for the first two films, were deprived of seeing this finish because it would have been a great nice finish.

The story of Hellboy 3 unrealized potential to end a story with a following cult nothing new. The faith that people like Ron Perlman put in this story doesn’t ever get its true finale, either. potentially with its involvement. But with the strength of that conviction prevailing in so many ways, and with the long haul in sight, this might be one of the most dedicated cases where a long blow pays off in the end.

You can see Ron Perlman and Guillermo del Toro reunited in Alley of nightmares, which is currently in theaters. The two creatives will also be seen together through the all-star stop-motion tale of Pinocchio, set to debut as a Netflix original film sometime in 2022.
