After finally losing the opportunity to become a partner, the Season 1 finale ends with Ingrid discovering that Jeff was the one who betrayed her and stopped her from getting the job. Given the cliffhanger, Season 2 could pick up on the aftermath of this harrowing discovery.

Meanwhile, Partner path will likely continue to address the topics of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, which Lee has experienced first-hand, according to Howe. “I think a lot of that comes from a very personal place, from Georgia’s experience in those white shoe companies,” she explained in her interview with Deadline. “There’s been an awful lot of conversation about the right way to represent these issues in the world of our show because it’s a balance – there’s a lot of fun, there’s a lot of aspiration and romance – but what makes it feel like a show you’ve never seen before because we’re telling it through the lens of Ingrid Yun.
