Learn all about the 110-year-old carousel, the museum’s forge and go behind the scenes of the collection!
Local history nerds unite!
The Burnaby Village Museum celebrates its 50th anniversary with a series of lectures throughout the month of September.
Events include discussions about the history of the museum and the history of the Indigenous peoples who lived in and around the area now known as Deer Lake.
You can also learn all about the conservation of the historic 110-year-old carousel “from cogs and gears to paintings and jewelry” and the museum’s forge!
There will be a behind-the-scenes look at some of the 50,000 pieces in the museum’s collection that are not on view to the public.
The Burnaby Museum and Public Library asked the community to ask questions and engage with presenters at these events.
Online Zoom chats are free (you can also view them on the the museum’s Facebook page) and take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from September 13 to September 29. Each conference begins at 7 p.m.
