Liverpool’s first revolving cheese and wine bar opened in the city center.

The Carousel Cheese Co. has arrived at the city’s largest food court, The GPO in Metquarter.

The new venue serves a selection of cheeses, cold cuts and wines from across the British Isles, presented on a rotating sushi-style conveyor belt.

The Carousel Cheese Co. is a project of owners Patrick Bond and James Kohanzad, who worked as private chefs for Richard Branson on Necker Island.

After a few difficult years for the farming industry, the space will provide a way for UK farmers to sell their unique, artisanal products.

North by South West, based in Liverpool, will supply charcuterie for belt production, offering traditional charcuterie.

To bring out the flavors of the cheese and cold cuts, toppings will be provided by Fermentation Station UK, which specializes in local fillings in small batches to make the ultimate cheese and wine pairing.

Patrick Bond, co-owner of The Carousel Cheese Co, said: “UK cheese farms should be celebrated on a platform that passionately showcases our country’s diverse and artisanal cheese makers.

“Now more than ever, we need a place to enjoy the finer things in life and what better than on our unique treadmill.”

The Carousel Cheese Co joins the GPO’s list of independent food vendors including Nama, Konjo, ALS Gongcha, Chit N Chaat, Mor Mor, Monkey Board Coffee, Torito Taco, Jailbird Nashville Fried Chicken, Patty B’s Burgers and ICE.

James Kohanzad, co-owner of The Carousel Cheese Co, said: “We are proud to bring our conveyor belt experience to The GPO and bring the best of British cheese and cold meats to Liverpool.

“We are delighted to be working with North by South West and Fermentation Station, two incredible producers in Liverpool who make exquisite charcuterie, ferments and pickles that will all feature on our cheese belt.”

The GPO is open Sunday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to midnight, serving alcohol throughout the day.
