A clever airport hack to get the suitcase out first and spend less time waiting at the baggage carousel

Airport chaos is being reported around the world, including in Dublin, where long queues just to enter the terminal are causing some passengers to miss flights.

More than 1,000 people missed their flights from Dublin Airport on Sunday, with security staff shortages blamed.

More queues are reported Tuesday for the third day in a row.

Vacationers looking to cut down on the time they spend at airports could use a nifty hack to ensure their checked bags are among the first to exit the baggage carousel.

Many of us have faced the dreaded line at the baggage carousel, where it seems everyone’s suitcases come out before yours.

However, there is a cheeky solution that involves a sticker that you can add to your luggage.

Those who don’t want to wait any longer than necessary can request a “fragile” sticker before handing over their luggage to the check-in staff.

According new.com.au this can, in theory, speed up your wait time.

This is because baggage tagged as fragile will enter the plane last, meaning it will exit the other side first, which equates to less time waiting at the dreaded carousel.

If you want to double your chances of getting out of the airport first, you can do something else. Thomas Lo Sciuto, a ramp agent and gate agent at a regional airport in the United States, told Quora that you should check in last.

He said: “Bags will always be loaded back and forth on the bag trolleys, so if you check in last, your bags will be on the last bag trolley.”
