7 things to check out at the Calgary Stampede Sneak-a-Peek tonight

COVID-19 still poses a risk to public health. With the 2021 Calgary Stampede officially kicking off on Friday, July 9, fans of the event can get early access to the annual Thursday night party. Sneak-a-Peek night.

The gates to Stampede Park are slated to open at 5 p.m. and guests will be able to experience nearly all of the iconic experiences of the 10-day event for half the regular admission price.

From 5 p.m. to midnight, general admission tickets cost just $ 9 during Sneak-a-Peek, while kids six and under get in for the evening free.

Here are seven things to check out at the Calgary Stampede Sneak-a-Peek night.

Who doesn’t want to see cute doggies? The Dog Bowl has an elite troop of canine athletes, who will demonstrate their skills in dockside diving, acrobatic dancing, agility sticks, Frisbee and more. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and is fast paced, action packed and is sure to delight dog lovers of all ages.

Freestyle motocross racers bring your adrenaline rush to the Calgary Stampede with daring and dangerous tricks as they soar through the air starting at 6 p.m.

Elbow River Camp

Celebrate and learn about Indigenous culture while visiting a variety of vendors, makers, and artisans at Elbow River Camp from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. If you’re in the market for a traditional treat, be sure to check out the Bannock Booth.

Ready to spend the night in two steps? Visit the Nashville North Tent to listen to live music and country tunes from George Canyon, Aaron Pritchett and Drew Gregory starting at 7:15 PM.

Importantly, the iconic venue has a new location this year, in the heart of Stampede Park near the grandstand, and guests are required to show proof of vaccine or receive a rapid negative COVID-19 test result for enter.

Check out all the weird, wacky, and wonderful foods and drinks the Calgary Stampede is known for.
